< DIY LUSH Ocean Salt Scrub >

Ahhhh Lush, probably one of my guilty pleasures that, frankly, I can't afford because I am dirt poor and a college student. If you don't have a ton of money, or you're particularly crafty and creative, then this post is the one for you! For this post, I want to dive into a DIY Lush Ocean Salt Scrub, but instead of spending $36 on it, we'll spend about $5 instead. Below I will be posting a video of a tutorial on how to make it - it's my sister's tutorial and she did a really great job, and I think you'll love it as much I do.

For this DIY Lush Ocean Salt Scrub, you will need:
• A lime
• A grapefruit
• Coconut oil
• Food coloring of your choice (though if you want it to look like the actual Lush brand, blue or navy would be perfect)
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Rubbing alcohol (make sure it's 70% Isopropyl - any higher could damage your skin, and we really don't want that!) or Vodka if you have some or want to go out and have an excuse to buy some
• Powdered clay (if you can't find powdered clay, just get clay that needs to be activated by water and finely grate it)
• Fine sea salt
• Coarse sea salt
• A jar
• A tablespoon, a teaspoon, a half teaspoon, 1/3rd measuring cup and 1/4th measuring cup

This is the jar my sister used because it has a really nice, tight seal around it so the scrub won't dry out. Obviously you can use any type of jar you have lying around, but this jar is preferred because of it's super splendid seal.

 Directions:
1. Juice half of a lime and half of a grapefruit
2. Nuke your coconut oil (my sister did her's for 35 seconds, but you can do it for as long as you like, just make sure it doesn't burn)
3. Measure out 1/4 cup of clay powder
4. Mix in 3 tablespoons of coarse sea salt to the clay powder
5. Mix in a heaping 1/3 cup of fine sea salt
6. Mix all the dry ingredients together
7. In a separate bowl than your dry ingredients, measure out 3 tablespoons of lime juice
8. Measure out 2 tablespoons of grapefruit juice
9. Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
10. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil
11. Mix in 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of the rubbing alcohol or the Vodka
12. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients - if you want, you can add more clay if you think it's too runny, or if you feel like it's too thick and clumpy, then you can mix in some more lime or grapefruit juice
13. Pour the mixture into your jar
14. Take about 2-3 tablespoons of coarse sea salt (you can do more or less than that; basically whatever floats your boat and whatever you can fit in your jar) and add in just a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of food coloring and stir it all together. Remember, if you do too much food coloring, it could tint your skin, and if you're a pasty princess with a PNW skin tone, then you probably don't want that.
15. Finally, just pour the coarse sea salt with food coloring over your clay mixture in you're jar, and you're done!
